RARE ornithological print from ‘On the Birds collected by Prof. J.B. Steerein the Philippine Archipelago’, Trans. Linn. Soc., 2nd series, Zoology, vol. 1, part 6, pl. 46 by Richard Bowdler Sharpe after J.G. Keulemans. Endemic in the Phils., a bird of the true forest, feeds on the forest floor, but usually perches 30-50 ft. above the ground; this species is named after Prof. Steere’s friend & tutor, Mr. Winchell.
