Walter Hood Fitch (1817–1892) was a botanical illustrator, born in Glasgow, Scotland, who executed some 10,000 drawings for various publications. His work in colour lithograph, including 2700 illustrations for Curtis’s Botanical Magazine, produced up to 200 plates per year. His nephew, John Nugent Fitch (1840–1927), also produced illustrations for Curtis’s Botanical Magazine. Vincent Brooks (1815-1885) was London based printer and lithographer whose firm took over Day & Son in 1867 to form Vincent Brooks, Day & Son. Sir William Jackson Hooker (1785-1865) was an English botanist and botanical illustrator, who became the first director of Kew when in 1841 it was recommended to be placed under state ownership as a botanic garden. At Kew he founded the Herbarium and enlarged the gardens and arboretum. The standard author abbreviation Hook. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name. This species blooms from spring to fall with many 1.25 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant. These are found growing on tree trunks and rocks in the Philippines at elevations of 500 to 2300 meters.
