steel engraving view from ‘Turner Gallery’, A series of 120 engravings from the works of the late Joseph Mallord William Turner. This antique engraving on laid paper was done by master engraver Charles Henry Jeens (English, 1827-1879), after a painting by Joseph Mallord William Turner (English, 1775–1851). The original painting was done by Turner in the style of Antoine Watteau and Thomas Stothard’s Decameron illustrations and he exhibited it at the Royal Academy in 1828.
