Description
original hand-colour copper engraving RARE map from the “Allgemeiner Atlas nach den bewährsten Hülfsmitteln und astronomischen Ortsbestimungen”.
Walch was a painter and engraver, well-known for painting miniature portraits, having trained in Geneva, Venice, and Rome. The printing and publishing house he founded in 1755 exists to this very day in its 8th generation – still in Augsburg – having moved to larger premises only 1994. This makes it one of the oldest printing and publishing houses not only in Germany but in Europe.
